cookies + creme dessert pizza
Please tell me I’m not the only one who grew up going to those Pizza Hut buffets and would always get the dessert pizza.
Let me take you on a walk down memory lane — er, buffet table. There was this huge, long table (or at least it felt that way for wee Stephanie) with a bazillion pizzas on it, and at the end was a dessert pizza. It had a cookie crust, and it was topped with some congealed fruit topping, a microwave sugar glaze and some streusel. In hindsight, it was probably the most disgusting thing ever, but at the time it was allIwantedever because it was dessert. Some things haven’t changed.
I have fond memories of those dessert pizza-eating days, and yet since the buffet location shut near my hometown it’s been a few and far day that I’ve indulged in a sweet cookie pizza. So when Hershey’s and Betty Crocker teamed up to create a new line of frostings and mixes and asked a few bloggers to create new recipes with them, I didn’t skip a beat before deciding that a dessert pizza was in order — and not one with congealed fruit topping on it, thankyouverymuch.
So let’s just cut to the chase and break down this cookie/pizza situation, shall we? For maximum cookie-ness and creme-ness, the base is a Hershey’s Cookies ‘n’ Creme cookie mix baked like a pizza. Then, we top it with some whipped cream and cream cheese frosting, chocolate chips and crushed cream-filled chocolate sandwich cookies, and top all that with a white chocolate drizzle. Whew. This dessert pizza doesn’t mess around.
My pro suggestions for this pizza are as follows: Make it soon, make it for your friends and family, wait two seconds until everyone raves over dessert pizza, watch as it disappears. Repeat.

Yum!
This is epic. Just think of the other add in you could do and with different cookie bases.
Will definitely be making this for my Italian friends!!
There is just so much goodness here.. I can’t even… Send me like 4 of these pizzas please..
This looks so incredibly yummy. Your photos are beautiful!!! What camera do you use?
Dessert pizza? At Pizza Hut? They defo don’t have that here at pizza hut in the UK. This would be good to have at a party different bases and everybody can choose their toppings
Yum! If you’re ever passing through La Crosse, Wisconsin we have a little pizza buffet called Pizza Doctors. They literally have something like 20 dessert pizzas to choose from in the buffet. Heaven!
I must’ve been missing out all those years at the pizza buffet because I only recently learned about dessert pizzas and they sound amaaaaazing! I could do without the congealed fruit part, but your version looks insane! Oreos? I’m on it!
Oh.my. I’m embarrassed to admit that I’ve never had a dessert pizza!!! Must change this.
How did I miss the pizza buffet growing up?! But I did take some of my students to one last year and they were ALL OVER the dessert pizza – +though it looked nothing like your gorgeous creation! I know I would love this!!
What a perfect dessert pizza! Can’t go wrong with cream cheese frosting and lots of chocolate!
Cookies ‘n’ Creme has always been one of my favorite combos — whether in candy bar form, ice cream form, or fudge form (in fact, I just posted a recipe for Oreo fudge!) I still remember how delighted I was when Hershey’s first released their Cookies ‘n’ Crème candy bar. And now you’ve given me another way to obsess over Cookies ‘n’ Crème. Yum!
Oh my gosh, Mike and I always reminisce about Pizza Hut buffets! Also, don’t know if you ever did this, their reading program? Where you would get free pizzas for reading books over the summer! So good! This cookie pizza looks way better than the one I remember from Pizza Hut!
^^YES. That. This is why we are all friends. Pizza buffets, dessert pizza, reading programs.
PS, someone needs to come up with an adult reading program, only you get free booze for reading. Wait, who am I kidding, I’d still read for pizza.
Hehe, I am guilty of going to the Pizza Hut buffet in my younger days and always getting a few slices of their apple or cherry dessert pizza. I haven’t gone in a long time but if they served your Cookies ‘n’ Creme version, I would definitely start going again 🙂 This sounds fabulous and I’m sure my hubby would devour this in seconds – dessert pizza is his weakness 🙂
I’d love to have a piece of this right now! It looks super delicious! x
