everything bagel popcorn
I’m not the kind of person who can eat popcorn — or any snack, for that matter — as a meal (homegirl needs real food for breakfast, lunch and dinner) but let me tell you, I can definitely pack it in between those times. Sometimes I eat it plain, sometimes I eat it with a little butter and salt, sometimes I toss it with melted peanut butter and/or chocolate and now, I’m going to be eating it like this. Forever and ever. And ever.

My obsession with everything bagels goes way back, so it’s no surprise that I’m a bit smitten with this combination. There are crumbled-up bagel chips, sesame seeds, garlic, onion and caraway seeds in there. Oh, and butter and salt. I mean… when you’ve got those players in the mix, it just doesn’t get much better.

Because I’m posting this recipe, it should come as no surprise that, in addition to waffles and doughnuts, everything bagel seasoning and popcorn have been serious cravings for me this trimester. I’m carb-loading in preparation for birth or something. Or maybe baby girl just knows what tastes good, and between her, me and my happy tastebuds, we’re all in full support of these food choices. (Don’t worry, I’ve been balancing it all out with salads, carrots, blueberries and yoga. And ice cream.) We’re in extra-full support of this recipe, too, because it requires about, oh, T-minus seven minutes to throw together. And about two of those minutes are spent staring at butter melting on the stovetop and/or staring at the microwave waiting for the popcorn to be done. Just a couple of recent hobbies I’ve acquired.

Side note: It really comes in handy to leave the whole bowlful of this popcorn on the counter so you can grab handfuls as you walk by. A little pro tip for ya there.

This recipe is so smart for those afternoon snack cravings! I’m with you – I need food at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Real food. Not munchies for meals. Food. 🙂

You can just go ahead and feed me the same things you’re feeding that growing baby. We’re craving the same things.

That seems weirder than I wanted it to be…

Holy crunch! I am with you on needing meals in addition to snacks. I also love to leave snacks open on the counter as opposed to sitting down with a bowl of them. It makes me feel better that I have to work for my snack by walking back and forth.
